Just wondering (because I couldn't find it) - does Realband have an 'invert selection' function. What I mean is, having selected a section of audio in a track, I want to select the rest of the audio, before and after my selection, instead and delete it - a 'crop to selection' function would also work. I know someone will point out where it is, and it will be obvious, and I will wonder how I missed it

Hi Dazz,
What I do is to highlight the section of a track that I don't want, choose "Cut" and in the Cut dialogue box, I select "Close gap". From what you describe, it sounds like this might do the job for you.

Hi Dazz,
There is no single Command to do as you suggest. I would Cut the middle section and Paste to another track, then you can deal with each track separately

I agree with LynB, that's how I do it here.
Cut what you want, paste to another track and erase the original.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Slightly different. I want to select a portion of the recording that I want to keep, then delete the rest.
What I have been doing is to select what I want, cut it, then select the whole track, delete it, then paste back the cut section at the start of the track.
Would be easier to be able to just select what I want, the 'crop to selection' like I do in Gimp when dealing with images, or failing that, select what I want, invert the selection, then cut'n'close the gaps.

Yes, that's close to what I do. I know I have worked with other software, and the 'invert selection' option is very neat, and would be easy to add, I imagine.
