In order for input monitoring to work there are three requirements
ASIO drivers capable of supporting it
Enable the feature
On the track you are recording on, click the little arrow beside the track so you get the FX window, select the top box in that window (the one with the track number) and scroll to bottom and select 'input monitor'.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
