As Noel mentioned, PG Music recommends that you install to your own internal hard drive if you have the room. By doing so, you automatically have your backup on the supplied external drive that you store safely away. You can always reinstall from the external drive and then just apply the latest update. We can't tell you how much space BIAB takes up on the hard drive unless we know whether you purchased the audiophile version or not. The good news is that version 2011, the latest, takes up only 1/3 the room of prior versions, because it uses a new algorithm and requires fewer base files. You can see the full list of RealTracks and RealDrums when you go to select one for a particular instrument. There may also be a list on the website; I'll look now.
