There are people here who know which files to delete so BiaB resets itself. I'm not 100% on it so I'll let someone else chime in.
As far as another software, have you tried Realband that came with BiaB. It is a little different and runs well on Win7 here. You can still generate parts, etc. Actually it's a little more flexible in some ways, but not as convenient in others. Worth checking out.
You can actually open BiaB files in Realband
In support section it says sometimes deleting 'intrface.bbw' will cause a reset.
Can you restore the original ini file?
