Hi Guys,

I am having a strange problem with BIAB and one particular song file.

If it's the first song opened, BIAB is 'Not Responding" and won't play it... i.e. it opens the file but won't play... the screen fades and everything freezes until I close BIAB... On the other hand, if I open BIAB, and play a different song first, and then open my 'problem' song, it works just fine.

The problem started when I added a realtrack flute solo on the soloist track. When I erase the solo, the file opens fine even when it is the first song... (I have a back up copy.)

You may say, just erase the solo and redo it... but the thing is I really like this solo and I don't want to redo it... I tried other "re-generations" but didn't like any of them as much...

By the way, is there a way to export the solo track and then re-import it into a fresh new file in case something is corrupted in my original file? BTW, I was able to "dump" the file into Realband, but I still want the BIAB file to work without this problem....

Any ideas/help?

Perhaps mute all tracks except the solo you like and render it to audio? Then you will always have a solo track you can bring into another project.

I was sure tempted to say something about NO!!! Freezing in Calgary??

Heck we even had 2 cm of white partly cloudy drop on our lawns in the balmy south Canada, you know where we are so far south you can draw a line to California right across. NUTS.

Hope you work it out.

If you can open it in RB, just use 'Track export track to file' command after highliting the flute track. When RB asks to include silence at beginning, say yes.

Then you have an audio track you can use in BiaB.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thank you everyone. Once I turned on Save Realtracks as midi.... (from the Opt/Pref/Realtracks menu... ) the problem went away.

I was also able to Make a Standard Midi File and then import the midi version of the solo into a new file... amazingly, the midi solo sounded very very close to the realtrack version... I guess it helps having the Ketron SD2...
