I had to do a really quick backing track for church on Sunday and ran into a problem. To be honest I got it fixed but was in such a time crunch I am not sure what exactly I did to fix it. Here is the issue.

I created three tracks

1. Drums, Bass, Accoustic Guitar
2. Once mix was where I wanted it I started DAW plug-in.
3. I opened Sonar X1 and selected tracks and drug tracks into Sonar
4. Tracks moved easily and wave forms showed up.
5. I played back the tracks and they sounded distorted and horrible. I lowered the volumes but that did not make a difference.

In the end I played around with loading different drivers going with WDM and changed the bit dept rate from 24 in Sonar to 16.

Is my issue a bit depth problem or something else I am doing? I am guessing Real Band does everything in 16 bit? Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I am still amazed by the way at how quick you can create a professional sounding track with this software. Yes, with more time I could have improved dynamics and phrasing but for most people listening they never heard the musical things I was hearing.
