Some VSTi/DXi drum programs do save settings in the host file, but others do not.
I use a folder for each song which contains all relevant data files and as a habit ALWAYS save and reload the changed default settings of any synth. GM standard synths are used to develop the Midi Data first before the actual sound patches are chosen. These can come fom external, internal and VSTi/DXi synths/samplers all of which have there own special peculiarities.
These programs are not suitable for BIAB, but can be used in RB and PTW to play existing Midi drum tracks. Unfortunately, the built in drum patterns and fills styles cannot be used.
