The only problem with that is copyright protection. If you're doing a classic jazz tune with the melody, that's a copyright violation and Youtube will probably remove it. Chord changes alone with you soloing, no problem. Now, we all have seen Youtube vids of people doing exactly this but I'm pretty sure they will take it down as soon as they're aware of it. One trick people use is to rename a tune to sound close to what it really is like Springtime in the Summer instead of simply Summertime. All commercial sites that host user created music do this. They have automated software bots looking for violations.
