I find it works to go into the Chord Window, right click > Options and ensure that RealBand never reworks the Chort Chart automatically. Then files containing chords can be opened without chord changes.
I remember that, at one time, I used the DAW Plug in Mode to transfer from BIAB to RealBand retaining the original chords.
