Download MIDI Monitor http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ to test/confirm the midi in/out data. When you go to the "filter" area of MIDI Monitor and play a key on the keyboard it will show you the key ( s ) that you played. MIDI Monitor is a utility for Mac OS X which displays MIDI signals in a variety of formats. It can watch both incoming and outgoing MIDI streams, and can filter them by message type and channel. Do you have any other Audio/Midi DAW to run a test the "recording" of the midi out from your keyboard ? You may have to refer your problem to Mr PG or to M-Audio. I have found that both are very helpful.
