Here is the problem, it is a driver thang. In my case when I moved to Win 7 I replace my sound card with an M-Audio Audiophile 192. The Win 7 driver for this PCI card does not have a "record what you hear" feature. This is a well known issue with this card\driver which is the lament of many over in the M-Audio forum where this is a common topic. I have not check in some time but the win 7 driver just would not do this.
