Here's a demo for my new duo - The Blues Stampede - I'd love for you to have a taste and tell me how you like this flavor. And of course it's always good to hear from old friends. The first link is to my new space at Reverbnation. You can leave your info if you'd like to see what we're up to.

I've been playing a regular Friday night gig at the Hidden Bay Cafe along the Columbia River and just did a
Sat. date across the river in Vancouver, WA. Almost too much for my 65 year old body which was already trying to recover from a late season cold. I'm going to be in a blues competition coming up June 4th - so if you'd be so kind as to take a listen to my demo song it might help me let more of the local blues community know that I'm here - and thanks to many members of this forum for helping me get started on this new path.

Pete

Here's an update from my first live recording session with Marty
Preslar on harmonica
This is no overdubb, but played live in a single take which is part of my organic music philosophy. tell me what you think?

Tres kewl Pete. I'd drop in and hang out but it's a tad far. I've got a couple of sisters up Van Island way, would like to visit but can't pry the bride loose, and I'm no good without her. She keeps track of my wallet and stuff. Even can find my teeth.

Keep on trucken even if the mules balk.

It's great to hear from you John. So happy your health is improved. I read with some envy about your journey through Europe, as a Portlander I never knew you were allowed to have that many sunny days in a row! I've added a new tune to my post also, with a little explaination.

Thanks and a Portland, OR, hello to Bob C. and Don Gaynor. Looks like things are finally warming up in the Northwest. Great for me since my main gig is playing outside on a covered patio. This chilly Spring has led me to become a fan of Irish coffee. Sparingly and for medicinal use of course.

A Highland howdy to you!, Joe Gordon.

So happy I could help bring back a happy memory for you. I'd love to hear more about your singing and music career. Leadbelly was a first and enduring influence on my music and we do a mini 12-string set which is all Leadbelly songs and as you heard I'm playing on a C tuned Del Arte guitar modeled after Leadbelly's old Stella.

A side note which may be of interest to others too- all the current songs on my current Reverbnation homepage were recorded on a Zoom Q3HD recorder which is a small portable HD stereo audio and video recorder. Maybe later I'll be able to put up some video of our live show.

Don - Thanks for your generous offer and there should be a PM in your box.
It is truly beautiful country here and to go out to the Crown Point Vista House which is 20 miles East of Portland in the Columbia River Gorge where you get a panoramic view of the River is stunning. This is one of the few temperate rain forests in the world so foliage is lush, clean water is in good supply and electricity is being generated at the Bonneville Dam. Fish and game are plentiful and there is a spirit of conservation and preservation that is deep seated.

Best wishes

Hi Danny C. !!

Great to hear from you and happy to be able to give you a taste of my current music. I was looking at your pictures -- I loved the one titled " 70's something". ah, too bad youth is wasted on the young!

Young at Heart, (there's a song there somewhere)

As we say in Nawlins, "yeah ya right"! The only thing in that photo that looks the same is the red Gibby as I am still plsying it today.
