I completed an installation of a new DAW using the Windows 7 O/S which included anew Soundcard the Creative X-Fi and have had anumber of issues with the soundcard.

I have used a succession of Creative soundcards over the years, even predating the SB Live card, and found that recording Audio with PTW and now RealBand easy using the "What you Hear" method.

Previously, Creative have developed for the Games industry and paid lip service to Music creation. With the Creative X-Fi card, Creative have included a Music Mode complete with a full Mixing Desk for all audio & Midi inputs. In addition, the Recording Panel actually Records sound to a special folder and not to a DAW. For previous models, RealBand could record "What You Hear" without the need for Audio Input Drivers to be selected in the Audio Driver Panel. Now it is necessary to ensure that the appropriate Creative Audio Driver is selected "What you Hear" , Line In or Digital In otherwise a blank recording.

I would not normally use the ASIO driver as I do not record live, and therefore all the initial testing was with the MME drivers. Unfortunately, the recorded tracks were found to include spurious artifacts. Despite many attempts using varying settings, I have obtained few acceptable track recordings.

I decided to try out the ASIO driver and have been able to record via the soundcard without any problems. So I am up and running again.

If anyone can suggest possible parameter changes within RealBand's Audio Driver Panel which could sort out the clicks etc, I would be much obliged.
