Can anyone give some tips to help me with the following issue:

1. I lead worship and many times have only a chord chart which is fine for me since I play acoustic guitar.
2. My other musicians a piano/organ player and synth player need to have printed music.
3. My thought is that I should be able to create a simple arrangement in BIAB that I am comfortable with and then print out parts. I think, but am not sure, I could bring that into Real Band and add additional parts for the organ or synth player if it is not in the original style.
4. My problem is I keep finding styles that work but then cannot seem to create a Read Chart. The help information on Real Charts is pretty limited or I am not looking under the right terminology. My understandig is if the style creates Real Charts you should be able to print the notation.
5. Is there also a setting to get the Piano parts to print left and right hand?

I am sure it is probably operator error on my part and one simple click of a box will make things better (At least that is what I am hoping )

So please send any tips or guidance you might have.

Thanks everyone,

Terry

Real Tracks parts are only there if they are underlined. So they should be green and underlined. You can chose a midi style, have the melody and have harmonies and then print those out, so say you wanted an alto part or a flute part that's pretty easy.

Start with an all midi style (not realtracks). You can get the thing fleshed out, and some parts printed.

Then go to RealBand.

Bflat instruments play generally +2, so if you want a horn part and are in F transpose the sheet to G and print the part for trumpet etc, then transpose back to F and finish up. E flat is avail for sax and some other horns.

I have handed out parts done in Band in a Box and had a group play 4 part harmonies in brass.

This just takes some getting used to.

I'd pick a very simple song and work on it, so it's short and compact.

I've jammed to "Just a Closer Walk" in a regular jazz group, seems to me that is really short and all the verses are the same. Dixiland style might work ok.

Not all of the Real Tracks provide notation. As John mentioned above, you can check the ones which have them in the Real Track list that opens when selecting a RT.

I believe there is a preference setting as well. Go to options/pref/RealTracks to see the options and check mark settings there.

I do parts for church but use RB instead. If you use RB you can just go to notation window and print out any part you choose. RB just seems more intuitive to me than trying to futz around with the melody and soloist tracks. FWIW As John says remember to do the appropriate transposing before printing and then use undo to get back to the key your want to save in.
