I have Audacity 1.2.6
Should I get the latest version?

I like Audacity for one reason.
My keyboard goes into a Bose sound system (usb mono)
Band in a Box plays through it.
I can start Audacity, start Band in a Box, play, and then at the end duplicate the track, trim it, and make an mp3 from it.
It seems simple to me, but maybe I was lucky.

The only times I do not upgrade Free software, is when features are being removed and placed into a non-free version. This is apparently not the case with this most recent upgrade. Also the new upgrades claim to improve compatablity with Win 7.

That appears to be the latest version which has a 2006 date. I have used Audacity previously with Windows XP, but now with Windows 7 and a Creative X-Fi Soundcard, recording is useless. I have yet to use it for editing puposes.
