I read that too. And he had a transposing piano. I'd never heard of one before. It works something like a guitar capo. Not sure if it would transpose to any key or just some. Probably expensive.

I know intervals are intervals but I find playing in different keys gives me different ideas. Due to the fingerings and visual aspect of it maybe.
