Thanks Noel and Tommy. The spot aired last night, and it sounded OK, but I'm doing a re-mix to bring the vocal up a bit. The radio station really squashes the signal, and the track loses a lot of dynamics.

Is this an AM station, or an FM station? If it's a mono station, check the mix in mono. I would advise against applying any 'radio station compression' preset on a comp. That's a recipie for disaster. If you heard the spot and need to bring the vocal up, do a remix. But avoid applying heavy master buss compression and/or limiting. That's what the station is doing and having it applied twice- once from you and once from them- will be terrible. Good luck.

Thanks Dan. I'm aware of station compression, and I still have a nice spiky signal with plenty of dynamics. It's an FM Stereo station (but I always check mixes in Mono anyway). I did a remix with the vocal up a bit. I don't have any mastering plugs like Ozone, so I have to get as much bang for my buck that Sonar can provide.
