Hello Everyone I got an iPod Touch yesterday and to day I paid 99 cents to buy the BB app just to see what it looked like. But what is the point of it even existing. You have to be near your desktop PC for it to work at all, so why not just use your desktop PC? And if hundreds of other music apps can have audio playback and midi playback why does the BB App do neither. And why no export to midi, which pretty much makes the entire BB App useless. I do not see the point of designing a non functional app unless it is stand alone, does audio and midi playback and export to wav and midi. Other iPod and iPhone music apps can do all the above. So, your wish is that you wish you could figure out the meaning of existence?
I don't own the app myself, but I think you will find that the point is that you create a song, or several songs, on your computer in BIAB 2011 and then transfer the songs to your iPod. You need to be near your desktop PC to transfer the songs but I'm pretty sure that it works when it is away from the computer. At least I've read a comment from from one person stating that he was using the app with the iPOD connected to an amplifier to provide backing tracks for a live performance.
I'm also pretty darn sure that you can create songs on the iPOD and send those back to your comptuer as well.
I don't think that the app was designed to be non functional.

For the iPod app to work, you have to have BIAB2011 and must set up your computer as a BIAB server (so it has to sit on the internet and turned on). Basically the app sends your computer a command across the internet to generate a song based on the information provided, which it does, and then sends back to you an audio rendering of that song (basically the accompaniment tracks). As long as your ipod has wi-fi internet connectivity, you should be able to use it. If you haven't set up your BIAB computer properly, however, all you can do is run the little demo on the iPod.
At least that's how I understand it to work.
