I haven't got the upgrade yet but just looking at the mixer demo it looks like it supports the ability to easily 'solo' more than one track at a time. The only way you could previously do this was to individually mute all the tracks you didn't want to solo. This will be a major productivity improvement for me.

Also the use of sliders for changing volume/pan/etc parameters rather than using the spinners or typing in absolute values looks like a much quicker and more intuitive way to work. Having the sliders move horizontally rather than verically is a bit of a culture change for people used to using traditional DAWS such as Cubase/Logic but this seems to work fine for users of Ableton/Garageband etc so it is probably something you will get used to pretty quickly.
