From another thread...

"The new RT's take up 200-400mb for each set since they started using that new Elastique algo. They only need one RT to cover the tempo ranges instead of three. The old sets were 700mb-1.2gigs in size."

This got me thinking......I know, Watch Out!

I am having a heck of a time keeping track of where I read stuff on this forum, but somewhere I read that the new RT's are up to 70% smaller. That got me wondering if they had compressed the wma files more. Tho they sound fine for tracks, they already have a "strange" tone to the upper mid & highs from being compressed format (tho no where near what an mp3 conversion would do!). This is noticeable when mixing in real instruments that you record yourself.

And before that flaming starts, they are FINE! REALLY! They do the job totally fine for what I am doing. If I could afford the Audiophile collection I would, but that is not in the wallet any time soon....

Anyway, the quote above got me thinking that they just removed the un-needed tracks that helped out achieving the various tempos before, and did no more compression on the files...is this correct?

Thanks in advance!!
