With iTunes, it will create a local version of the songs - but it's not intuitive as to where they are located. Also, they will be in a format that it not compatible with Windows Media Player.
I loathe iTunes, to be honest.
We had to transfer contents from my son's first iTouch to a 2nd one, and the only way I could get clear instructions on how to do this was to go to the local Apple store and have someone explain how it worked. That person was extremely helpful, but the process itself is quite cumbersome.
Do you have an Apple store in Vienna? If so, the best choice would be to go to the store location with your questions. I couldn't find evidence of anything other than an online store in Austria, but my German isn't quite good enough to determine if there are physical stores there or not.
