I haven't used Power Tracks in a number of years but wanted to record a duet by Ravel and convert it to a wave file.
Is there a "Select all" option somewhere so I can highlight the track I want to convert. And what are the other steps in the process. I also don't remember if my sound card M Audio Delta needs to be set somehow.

What version of PT?
The 'merge to stereo wavefile' is under 'Audio' menu item for recent versions and under 'File' for older versions.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

I have 10.0b (3)
In my VU meter it says there is a problem with my sound device. However, when I check my sound device in Control Panel it shows it working properly. I found the merge to audio menu but get nothing when I record using it.

Options - preferences- audio tab
select the M-Audio driver for input and out put, then click the 'Move selected device to top' button. That should get the soundcard working.
Do you have any tracks recorded, or are you just starting this project? Is it MIDI or audio?

I have a merged track of my duet that is the seq. file from Power Tracks. In my audio tab I have Delta AP midi and put that in both input and output. But it didn't record when I tried that. Should it be something other than "midi" from my Delta audiophile.

In your audio tab it should not say midi. I don't think you are in the right place, on the audio tab hit 'drivers' button and set to Delta.

Should I be in PT options? or in my computer's control panel to reset. Mine should say Delta AP 1/2 but it still says Delta midi inside Power Tracks device section.
However, I got it to show Delta AP 1/2 on one of the tracks that I want to record to. But that will not record. I'm using the viewer to see if any sound is coming out, and there isn't any being recorded.
I went into my VU meter and clicked on the volume. It tells me there is a problem in my sound hardware. However, it shows that is is ok when I check inside My Computer's control panel.
I have also rebooted my computer several times without any effect.

Options - preferences -audio tab - drivers button
That is where PT gets its audio drivers from. Click through each, then select the Delta (not soundmapper or such). Then click 'move selected device to top'. Make sure it is the only thing highlited so it moves to the top and becomes PT's default audio device.
After that it is a maatter of the Delta being set up correctly, but that is not usually the issue if windows is using it OK.
When you say 'device' it makes me think you are in the MIDI device section. MIDI is not audio.

Ok, Thanks, I have the Delta driver in Options-prefs,audio tab-drivers button.
It was in there all along. I guess I was asking the wrong question.
How do I make my merged duet track into a Wave file? Do I make it into something else like an audio file by re-recording it on a separate track and then convert to Wave.

"Audio-merge audio and DXi tracks to stereo wave file" should do this.

Ok, I tried audio merge to stereo wave file--still getting nothing when I load it into Audacity to see what I have and nothing is in the file. It seems to make a file but doesn't have anything recorded in it.
What do I need to do with the midi file first before I convert it? Which track am I using to convert. Am I making a new track first?
Maybe this isn't something possible to do with PT.

Yes it is possible ..
Now I know it is a MIDI file. Assign the MIDI tracks to a DXi synth before rendering. This allows the MIDI to be changed to audio.
In Options - Preferences - MIDI - MIDI Devices; put a check in the box for "Rereoute MIDI to default DXi synth"
Then in the dropdown right below that checkbox, select a DXi synth to use..

Does Power Tracks have built in DXi synths. Otherwise, I don't think I have any. The only one that shows up is Akoustik piano and that one doesn't function and can't be accessed.
This might be impossible for me to get this done with the Power Tracks that I have.

Thanks rharv for all your help. I appreciate your efforts to help me out. I'm giving up the process of converting to Wave with Power Tracks. I don't have the expertise needed but gave it a good try. I have other options for playing duets with myself and could just use PT as a practice aid with one part live and the other part recorded. I could use my Zoom recorder or Reaper as well.

If you do not have any DXi synths you have to play it back and record it, by setting the windows mixer input to 'whatUhear' or stereo mix or such; depends on soundcard. Which Delta? May be called monitor mix..

I remember I used to use a "line in" to my sound card to record.

How are you trying to record? Are you playing a keyboard into the computer?
If so then yes you use the line in connection. When this started you said you had two tracks you wanted to merge down, that is different than recording.

I used my Roland FP-4. I merged the two tracks into one from the duet and then wanted to save the final file to a wave. (Or MP3 or WMA)

Is the current format MIDI (.mid) or audio (.wav or .seq or?) Even if it is a seq file it could still be midi data; depends on the track type.
It's two different ways to get it done.

The file is a Seq. format with midi data.
