No, you don't tweak the WMA files. You render individual tracks using the WAV button to the folder where your song is located.
If you want to use effects, then try RealBand. I doubt BiaB will go in the direction you hope for, as RB seems to be the vehicle for sequencer/DAW work from PG Music.
