I have been a user of BIAB for years, and I am very excited about the direction it is going with 'real tracks'.
This new feature has done a lot to overcome the 'computer generated' feel of the music.

I would like to see more done to humanize the music, and suggest:

(a) Have a humanize function that works across the whole song. Currently the melody humanize buttons randomly alter the start/end time of individual notes. This same concept, I feel should be extended to the whole song.

When playing music live, the timing of various parts of the music varies slightly, eg, slowing down slightly at the end of the song.

Not too sure what rules one applies here, but if the whole thing cannot be done automatically, then perhaps a simply way to alter the tempo rather than the current feature of a percentage change for a bar, which is OK for a few bars, but tedious for a whole song.

(b) Phrasing process. The simplest type of phrasing is to musically indicate where the singer usually takes a breath (usually at the end of a line). I have found a simple break of 1/16 th note does wonders for a simply midi file, and perhaps this type of scheme could be done in BIAB.

(c) Pause I have tried to incorporate a note pause (fermenta) by extending notes, or changing the bar tempo, but this does not work very well, as the band rhythm continues on, rather than pausing. A pause symbol feature that holds the chord would be helpful.

(d) Rall. etc. I saw a request on another entry for this, and find it would be a much better to specify a starting and end point for the tempo change. The current bar percentage is OK, but tends to give a stepped slow down rather than smooth tempo change.

with thanks ... Clyde
