Thanks rharv. I have used hi and low pass filtering before and you are right, it should help some. I will try that suggestion.

I'm also wondering about tone. Does this have any effect on the results? If so, is it better to go more bassy or more trebly?

I also wonder if an expander might reduce the level of 'space' between notes and thus make the track detection more accurate?

I should also cut my fingernails. I did notice the detection algorithm picked up on those little 'clicks' as my nails hit the strings. lol
