The funniest thing is happening in RB
I have an M-Audio Audiophile USB
I record a track, the mixer levels looks fine. All other tracks play out, but my vocal recording stays muted( its is not muted..before anyones suggests that)
I went to BIAB, recorded the vocals, it plays back?
I am stumped ...
When I check the waveform levels in the track view it is a similar height that the generated guitars etc (which I am hearing fine). The track type for both shows General Audio.
Any suggestions?

What is the output set for in the vocal track? Make sure that the output of the vocal isset to the same as the guitar tracks, the main output, or sound card.
I know it is not muted, but are you checking that on the tracks view or the console (mixer) view? If the mixer view, then go back to the tracks view and see if the track has a green check mark or a Red X on it.

Right click a good track and see what 'port' it is assigned to. Then right click the offending track and compare, if indeed it is not muted.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thanks, I solved it.
Cannot really say what did the trick but after changing the drivers, mucking about with Windows 7's directing output/input even ASIO/MME switches I managed to get it it such a twist that RB hung up and I aborted via task manager.
When it fired up it asked if I wanted to start with all defaults and I chose YES.
I then went through the motions settting up MIDI and AUDIO drivers and it worked!
Strange thing is I could not find the "return to factory settings" for RB?

Just finished a recording of Ian Tyler's "Four Strong Winds" for a friend. I heard Neil Young the other night on a music show show with Emmylou Harris and it has stuck in my brain!
I used my Digitech Vocalist Live4 with the Eaglets 2 harmonies on the chorus to bring in the background singers! I am very happy now .....

Hi,
To do this, you usually just have to delete RealBand.ini and RB.CFG, from the RealBand folder.

I will remember that.
I actually found the root cause, it was the RCA cable from the M-Audio to my mixer.
Please do not ask me why but It seems that there was some kind of dry joint. When I started to re-connect my setup (in desperation), the vocals came back intermittently when connecting the line in to my mixer. Replaced the cable and no problem since ...
