Hi All!

I have a tune in which the first 16 bars are very slow jazz ballad groove, then from bar 17 till the end of the tune the tempo changes to a med fast Bossa groove.

What I'd like to do is add 4 bars in between 16 and 17 (which now creates bars 17-20), within those 4 bars I want to add "just" Real Drums as a type of "lead in" to the new tempo.

Does anyone have any ideas?

It's not what you're "Playing", It's what you're "Saying"!

Sounds very doable, what are you having issue with, inserting 4 bars? silencing all but the drums?, switching styles at bar 17 and then again with tempo change at bar 20? playing only drums for the four bars. All these are doable.

The manual will tell you how to silence everything except the drums for however long you want. Later, Ray

C.d will rest all instruments except drums. Had to search for it. Haven't used that feature for a long time. Later, Ray

I use the chord name and the .D to play only 2 bars of drums on an 8 bar intro. Cue the bass .DB at bar 3, the guitar at 6 .DBG and just the chord on the 8th bar. Adds some interest. I also move it around, bass first, whatever. I know I can do it with f5 too, but I like the other way because I can see what's coming on the chart.

chesni, you old goat. That metaphor eh? I no come here first time, and last week not born either. So I tell old friend, I think that Ivan's friend, and we glad Ivan pack up materials for eating and take long journey through rough terrain. I doubt we see each other, some gypsy with a gold tooth take my fortune for love potion. Call nineski. Too bad make me like macho men and make me feel good. Never kiss secret police or cops of San Fran man. Later Stan, groovy

Ah John! I fear that you are using your "well documented sense of humour" to mock my old friend 'chesni'!
He is actually well known in Scotland......as one of the few remaining haggis hunters, (who is also a "cross dresser).......this, of course, often results in his being mocked by the media.
Which is also compounded by his poor command of English. Indeed, I spoke to him about this.........he replied, "Why I need English? I Ukranian/Scottish!" To which, of course, I had no reply!
Whatever he may be promoting may be totally harmless........but being suspicious of his well known 'temper flare-ups'..........I'll leave the clicking for someone else!
Regards, Joe G.
***PS....Another factor may be work related.....becuse of the very wet Spring and Summer, the "haggi" have been very few. I do feel sorry for chesni.(Not sorry enough to click!
