When I attempt to change track type on an unused track from "midi" to "audio mono" I get the message "can't change track type if track already has data". I have already successfully recorded four Audio tracks. I want to record a fifth track but get this message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Gregg

Hi shimpaku,
This may or may not help but it sounds like you have a BIAB file loaded and that you are trying to change the type of one of the BIAB tracks. Try scrolling down to one of the lower (gray), blank tracks and see if the problem persists.

Thanks for your suggestion but............
I have no BIAB files loaded. I tried changing the track type on a dozen or so unused tracks. Same problem.
But, if I create a new file with no tracks recorded yet I am able to change track type on as many tracks as I want.
I am going to record a couple of tracks on this new file and see if I can change the track type.
Further suggestions would be appreciated........

Skip down to where you have 4-5 blank track between your last track and the new one and see if you can do it there.

If it says there is data on the track try Track-Erase, and see if that gets rid of data so you can change it.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thanks to all for your suggestions............I tried all of them with no result. I am going to check for patches/updates and to see if I have the latest version as suggested.

After you have selected the whole track and then used delete, check the event list for the same track and see if there is any data there. This one got me once and deleting data in the event list fixed it...Bobby
