A lot of great vocalists have covered this song but never gave me chills like the late Jeff Buckley http://youtu.be/y8AWFf7EAc4 for my taste hands down the best

I agree, the first version I heard was Jeff Buckley's a few years ago and I had to hunt down the song from the lyrics that I kind of remembered.
I found the Jeff Buckley video and was floored. I loved it. I then found out it was a Leonard Cohen song. I listened to Cohen's songs for awhile but I didn't become a fan.
From the first time I heard this sung by Jeff Buckley on Christian radio, I was a fan forever, only to find he had passed away years ago.
