A decent console will have the following inputs:
1. Low Imp.low level Mic input
2. Low Imp line level input
3. An insert-- this is a stereo jack were tip =send & ring=return. Used to patch compressors inline. Typically.
4. Direct send--used to send to tape decks etc.usually post EQ /prefader.
