Throws multiple Access Violation errors the then hangs. I had to uninstall and reinstall the driver for my Creative Audio sound card. Is this a known issue? Is it fixed in latest BIAB for windows?

what version do you have? I am using win7x64, just opened the piano window and used it briefly. no problems. I don't have a soundblaster, tho, which I suppose is possible that it could be a problem if you're using the SB MIDI, if there's a problem with the win7 drivers for the SB card.

The BIAB version is 2008.5 in the post title. What version of Windows 7, and is it 32 bit or 64? Regardless of the answer, it may be that only PG Music would be able to test this combination at this point.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I have the 64-bit version of Win7. The sound card is Blaster X-fi Titanium (great marketing). I have been using BIAB for a couple of months on this machine with no issues. I wanted to watch the bass line note for note on a style and opened the Big Piano window. It was and ugly crash. Nice to hear that 2011 on Win 7 x64 is working fine with a different sound card.

sorry, you're right, version was in the title.
it might be necessary to record all of the access violation information, tho - exactly what all did the information say?
also, do you have the latest updates for your version of BIAB?

Phil, did you try to run biab in windows xp compatibility mode ? (right click on bbw.exe, select properties, then go to compatibility tab).
(I don't have any trouble with biab2004 running on win7 64 bits this way)

Chris (Swinging Soft)-- You are my Hero! Ever since I got Windows 7 I've been having this problem, and I finally got it fixed with your "capatibility mode" answer. Not only have I learned how to fix this function, but I now know about using "compatibility mode." I'm so psyched! Thank you!
