That's it! I know it sounds crazy, but I think that it is a mental exercise more than anything else. Since Alto Sax has a 3# (+9) shift, I think in terms of "up," not "down" in key. I would assume that a Bb instrument player would think "down" in key, not "up"; consequently, a trumpet player would be more comfortable with flats. Weird as it may seem, seven sharps is more "comfortable" to me than five flats.

Minor point, certainly, but this is certainly a feature that would be nice to have in the notation options, if nothing other for practicing purposes.
