Far be it for me to give validation to anyone for anything...

As a programmer, I used to test all the OS tweaks, and it made a difference. I even tried a few when Windows 7 beta was first released. Very quickly, both by experimentation and from reading all the articles, I decided they were no longer necessary on Windows 7.

I have an i5 (using it now) and it runs audio software with no tweaks at all. I do turn off the internal soundcard, and adjust UAC down, but otherwise, it runs fine as is.
