if you are being serious: a $16 increase in production cost results in far more than the example you quoted. it's a markup formula that few businessmen that i've ever met can calculate, let alone, understand. add to that fact that most electronic circuitry is "an application" therefore unpatentable so you suddenly find yourself doing the r&d for your foreign competitor who has a cheaper labor force to build your "borrowed" engineering.
