Ctrl-Alt-Q will send a GM reset. Try the reset and then select the new patch and see if it changes correctly. Are you working on a midi file in Biab?
Might want to open it in RB and view the event list for that track to see what is going on, might be some CC's being sent.

Multistyles - I never could get the correct patch changes sent to my Tyros when working with a MS. The drums would ALWAYS change to piano, and I had to manually send a GM reset while the song was playing to get the new patches to change.
