Hi Folks,
Happy Thanksgiving to y’all. I am planning on purchasing an IPAD 2 (maybe 16 or 32 gigs) but at the moment I am a bit undecided and have opted to wait and watch things for the time being. The reason I say this is 2 fold. First of all, I understood from the grape vine that Apple is now working on the IPAD 3 which possibly might be released sometime early in 2012 and I understood that it will be a much improved IPAD with some new killer and stellar features. In that case, I can wait patiently and keep my money in the bank for the time being. The second reason why I am undecided right at this time is because my research shows that the TOSHIBA THRIVE TABLET (which is the top competitor to the IPAD 2) is amazingly awesome and has some features that the IPAD 2 does not have like an HDMI PORT, USB PORT and an SD CARD slot for further expansion. The Toshiba also has some other killer features and can do exactly what the IPAD does. Most importantly, it is cheaper. You may ask what my reason is for wanting to purchase either an IPAD or one of those ANDROID TABLETS. Well first of all, I am a gigging musician and I play keys full time in my church then I am now experimenting with a small home studio. Also too I am a part time university student online. My gear includes a Mac book, an Hp Laptop, Yamaha Motif ES-7, Roland Juno G, Cubase Le, Logic Express, Omega USB interface….(I think that is pretty much it). So basically, the I pad has a lot of music apps and infact all kinds of apps which would do me well. On the other hand, the Toshiba Thrive Tablet has USB and other ports so this is also a consideration. Does anyone know if the Toshiba Tablet can be used for Music production like the IPAD? Does anyone know about music Apps for the Toshiba and where I can read up on the potential of the Tablet in this regard? One of the downsides of the Toshiba Tablet as far as I can see is the need for some kind of antivirus to be installed. Apple products don’t really have this problem. I would very much appreciate some feedback and advice from y’all regarding which route to go……IPAD 2….or wait for the IPAD 3 in early 2012………………….or the TOSHIBA THRIVE APLET.
Looking forward to much feedback. Thanks Y’all
Jacobins
