Bruce, Usually you can drag the audio file in Sonar, and line it up that way. One other thought is to open the .mgu file in Realband, and add your favorite VSTis there, and then export as all wave files for import into Sonar. I have done that with Sonar X1 essentials, and it works pretty good. Lastly once opened in RealBand, and the VSTis are added you might try finishing the song there, you might be surprised!!
Hope this helps a bit, if not post back, and maybe one of the big time Sonar gurus will weigh in.
