Hi

First can i say thanks PG very much for the tuba just what i wanted sounds super, sorry i also have a moan
there is something wrong with the tenor banjo sounds,it sounds as though the player is muting the strings with his hands so stopping the banjo to ring out on all stokes

regards jazzband

the timing is quite bad as well it sounds as though he is a total beginnner

Banjos sound different? Wow. I'd have never guessed that one. I saw one a few times though.

IMO. the banjo sounds great. This is a dixieland band, and the banjo is rhythm section. There are 2 variations, a simpler one (mostly 4 in the bar), and a razz-a-matazz one with more inventive stuff. The player's timing is great, I haven't a clue what you are referring to.

If you could provide some type of example, preferably a BB song with a frozen banjo track, posted to support@pgmusic.com, that would be a big help.

Here's an example of both variants of the banjo, in 'a' section playing normally, and in 'b' section using the razz-a-matazz. Let me know if you are hearing any problems in that - I don't.

Hi jazzband, I had a listen to the demo.....it may be that the banjo player is using a "tone enhancer".....when playing rhythm....it also acts as a partial mute, allowing more attack. That's what I use when I'm playing with Jazz Bands....I remove it when playing solos!
Banjo sounds pretty good to me, though!
Regards, Joe G.

Hi John, Hope you are well enough? When Sally & I work together, it's mostly guitar I play.....but when I do the Jazz Fests ........on my own, with backing band...it's mainly Banjo for the Ragtime Solos & Dixieland vocals.....you'll find audio clips on the "Ragtime Banjo" page on our website. Regards, Joe G

Hi Joe

just listerned to your clips and that is what a banjo sounds like, clean crisp and rings out super sound
i am not as good a player as you but close, after three strokes i can hardly play atall like i used to but theres nothing wrong with my ears i think PG shoud have used you,out of all the instruments i played i always enjoyed playing the banjo the most so i fill quite sad that its all been taken away but im back working on it once more just like starting all over again, i maybe be one of the best 100 year old banjo players around you never know

regards Dave
