Your opening remark lacks foundation. There would be no point coming up with new Operating Systems without significant improvement. The same applies to software and for our purposes, music software and for the purposes of this thread, the possibilities of a 64 bit Band in a Box.
Windows XP diehards have just gotten used to that way of working and are reticent when faced with new and improved ways of moving forward. Of course there are glitches. For me the XP MPU-401 was supported only on XP and my keyboards ran just fine. On Vista and Win 7 problems with MPU-401 support. It's no big deal. A simple MPU-401 adapter to USB worked fine.
What is exciting is being offered full VST use on every track. So it's reasonable to assume that 64 bit software would seem a certainty in the near future.
