got my biab and realband installed on the computer last night...and decided to start out working with some of the midi's i have on hand with Realband...was able to change some key's around to a key that i can sing in....and add some effects and make them BB tracks....witch made this cheezy midi sound pretty good..
but the question i have is...if i save midi...or save as it will not keep the changes i've made on the midi and save to my storage device to be able to play on my keyboard...i was trying to send it back to a flash drive that i can plug into my yamaha keyboard
so i thought maybe i need to record my work and play it as a audio file....because i couldn't find anything to record my fixed midi as a midi track...
i try to record as a audio track and it marks the track in Red....and after recording disappears on me.. and puts a yellow flag in the right corner saying my mic plug in has problems....so what am i doing wrong?
not finding anything in the book yet for this problem.....what can i do with my work to save it....and replay my work?
thanks cajun

Effects do not get saved in the MIDI spec Try saving as both Type 1 and Type 0 MIDI; not sure which one your keyboard will handle.
If you are recording the computer from itself, you don't want to use the microphone in. You want to change your recording properties to use 'Stereo Mix' or 'WhatUHear'
If those BB tracks are getting generated as realtracks/realdrums (audio tracks as oppossed to MIDI) they will not save to a MID file. MID files can not contain audio.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

When you use 'Save As' you have to select a File Type from the dropdown. .MID is available (type 1) and Type 0 MID is the other selection.
You may need to right-click your speaker icon lower right corner, select Recording Devices, and enable the option for Stereo Mix..
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Rharv....you hit the nail on the head my friend i was able to get into the recording device area and i changed it to the stereo mix...and Realband recorded my audio then..
then i was able to save it as a wav file and can play it in real player.. i think i'll let this be my mission for a while...straightening out all these midi's i have putting them in my key's and doctoring them up with good sounds and effects..
i wish i had gotten a big book for the Realband side of this software like i got for the BIAB side....but oh well life is not perfect at times
Rharv...i cannot thank you enough for helping me make my first baby step's with this program...may god and santa bless you this holiday season..
and also let me say i'm sorry in advance because i'm like a 3 year old when it comes to computer matters....and i know i'm going to annoy the veteran's at times on this forum
and i can't tell you guy's how happy i am that i actually did a little something with these midi's...i feel like i'm moving forward and another step closer to doing a one man show..
