I was not happy with the way the individual solo buttons were implemented during Beta Testing. Previously, you were able to use the Solo Icon to select tracks to be soloed and by selecting tracks, using the Cursor + Shift/Control buttons, increase or refine your selection of tracks. As the selected tracks were highlighted, the mix you had was easily identified even in the Classic Tracks Menu. The 2012 version of RB used individual solo button which had to be selected individually, but the Solo Icon could still be used to deselect all the soloed tracks at once.
Now with Build 4 the Solo Icon appears to be able to select a track as solo IF the track has been previously selected with the cursor, but cannot be un-soloed except by the individual track solo button. In fact, the original purpose of the Solo Icon has been virtually eliminated. This part of the program needs to be reviewed.

I see what you are saying as far as the new solo button on previous versions; it doesn't allow selecting a new group of tracks for 'soloing' easily (like it used to). I'll install build 4 this weekend and see what you are talking about for that one.. but that first feature is something I'd like restored too; if the shift or ctrl button is used to select new track to include in the mix (while in the solo mode) it doesn't work like it used to.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Hi, I think it needs to be made so the BIG BLUE solo button goes ON when you click a solo button on one or more tracks then if you click the BIG BLUE solo button it will release ALL the soloed tracks at once. Then you get the best of both worlds Bob. Solo Overide.avi Solo Overide.mp4

. Same here. Cant figure out what the small M and S buttons are supposed to do. Tried clicking on each in various combinations, but I cannot get any consistent result. I end up clicking the old-school "S" button above all the tracks a bunch of times until I see the meters doing what I want.
Whatever may be intended, the result is a decrease in efficiency and increase in annoyance.

In Build 5 you can select the SOLO Icon but cannot release it. I recommend that the SOLO Icon is not used at all as, once selected, it causes problems with the way the track solo buttons operate.

I still do not understand this glitch ? My fx buttons show just fine in build 5 ?
Agreed that the 'old' main SOLO button is now not really needed. Or at least it does not work like it used to so I just use the new individual solo buttons on the channels.

Tommyc and I have been tinkering with 'skins' for RB. We make our track graphics look different than most. By doing this we are changing some files and adding some. One of the files seems mislabeled (or mis-used in the coding, I'm not sure which), but if you have a graphic named fxglyph in the right folder it will replace the 'solo' graphic, so an FX graphic and solo graphic appear to be an issue to us, where it won't bo for most other users. I probably should have PM'd him, but I hope support sees this thread so they notice both issues. I also hope they continue supporting the 'skin' option by allowing use of these new graphics. There is a thread here - http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=340074&page=0&fpart=2&vc=1It's fun to have a different look occasionally.
