Thanks. Due to the marvels of evolving technology there is internet on the train, headed up to the edge of the James Bay lowlands. It's somewhat slow, but man, I'm not, for the first time, driving the 8 to 10 hours through the lovely rain, freezing rain, fog, freezing fog, snow and dark. Shortest days of the year.

I thought bringing the laptop would be useful at the in-laws but now I find I can mess about, plug beside me, wireless working, and the frozen vista spread out like a flat painting, all grey and grey/white.

I have some bushwacking to do, some firewood to cut, and a bit of rye to drink.
