I am gonna call support today ,but i thought i would check here also. I have Biab2012 megapack on my laptop that doesn't have a "midi card or input" it said in the video that it would show the soundcard info and recognize it so you could plug in via usb..If i can't use my vocal mic and bass threw a usb chord and record it with real band or BB it will be HORRIBLE and a huge let down. Please tell me this is a simple fix.Thank for any help you may have

It certainily should be simple, you just have to know what you are doing. Of course you can use a mic and input both vocals and your bass (via direct in), but you do need an input device to hookup the mic and bass and it can be USB. So what USB Device are you using to attach the mic and bass? What ever it is, it needs to be installed so the correct drivers are available to BIAB/RB which will recognize them for recording.

I am guessing you have a USB mic. If this is plug and play then the drivers should be available. Be sure to enable the device in the control panel of your Operating System, then BIAB should see it. Fro the bass I don't know of any instrument to USB connecting cable which will not require specific drivers. Install, enable and you will see it in BIAB.

Well I'm confused. How do either of these interface with your computer? Perhpas, I am missing somethign here. You need an A/D converter of some sort - I don't immediately see that in either of these two units.

Any USB audio interface should be connected to the computer and turned on before opening Band-in-a-Box, because it will look for the device while starting up.

Have you been able to record with these devices using any other software?

In Band-in-a-Box, where are you looking for the drivers to be showing up?

OK, then if installed prior to opening BIAB you should see these in the screens below (kind of low res images, sorry). Have you looked here:
