I run BIAB 2009.5 on windows vista 32 bit.
I'm considering purchasing my first realtracks package now that I'm fairly adept at making backing tracks.
is there anything I should know before purchasing/downloading.. making sure they are stored in the correcty folder etc. ??

Some of the newer tracks won't work on 2009.
The install procedure will place them in the correct folder.

Rather than purchase RTs, save a bit more and get 2012 it comes with them all, and will open the door for you.

You asked if there is anything you should know. Rachael and Robh offered some good advice.
Even if a set of new real tracks works with the 2009 program, its safe to say that you'll be MUCH happier with the results you get from version 2012. If money's an issue, charge it and pay it back in small doses.

What they said. The RealTracks are, by themselves, a fantastic innovation... but what really makes them work is the evolution of how BIAB handles them. Ever iteration has made "the same old RealTracks" sound better. There have been some patches here and there to the RTs themselves, but the improved endings, shots and holds, VSTs, easier auditioning, easier mixing and matching with MIDI, the Direct Input tracks... really, it's well worth it to upgrade to the current version.

I would whole heartdly go along with above comments.
You get quite a few new Realtracks with the $59 upgrade.
If you can swing the $$ add the $25 bonus pak, it has quite a few extra
RealTracks.
Or go for the mega pak $79 upgrade it has 160 realtracks, plus all the midi styles
and a lot more.

Be very clear when you tell the install program where to put the RTracks and RDrums. There are several choices.
If you have the space on your C: drive, install everything there. The process is fairly automated.
In my case, I dont have enough space on my hard drive. I have the main program on my C: drive and the RTracks on an outboard hard drive. You will see these choices when you install. Just be careful specifying folders corectly and you should be fine.
Once BiaB is running, check the RTracks preferences and the RDrums preferences. You can confirm that BiaB has put the RTracks and RDrums where you wanted them.
