When I'm searching for the elusive "best" style for a song, there's a number of features in the style picker that makes it very easy for me to narrow down the style choice.

1. I usually find a generic midi style that I like. I use midi simply because the regeneration time of the style is almost instantaneous.

2. Once I've found the style I like, I have a couple of different paths to follow.

3. Path 1 - use the filter in the style picker window to show only those styles that have a similar feel (and/or tempo) to the selected midi style

4. Path 3 - a manual approach. I note the song's tempo and whether the chosen style has 8 or 16, and SW or EV next to it. I then use this information to choose styles that have the same characteristics.

For me, choosing the right style is about eliminating all those styles that are irrelevant. Once that's done, a manageable number remains.

Regards,
Noel
