Sorry for the obscure subject. I'll explain.
I load a BIAB file with realtrack guitar. I click on VST/DX Synths/Plugin. Select guitar. Select <VST> Amplitube 3. Select "Soft jazz echo" for the guitar. All works as advertised. I save the BIAB file. Close BIAB. Relaunch BIAB and play the song. No amplitube. I click the plugins, and sure enough amplitube 3 is connected to the guitar, but no audio is going into or out of the vst. If I click 'none' to remove amplitube and then select amplitube again for the guitar vst, viola, amplitube works, and guitar input and output as expected. Quite an annoying habit, as I lose the settings when reclicking amplitube the second time. (I am aware I could save them as a bank.)
What is going on and how do I prevent this?
Thanks for the help,
Bob aka jazzwombat

Works OK for me. Do you use "save song as" first with all the settings?

I have used both "save" and "save as" with the same loss of amplitube connectivity.

I tried this today on a few tunes. I could not duplicate the issue. Each time, Amplitube reloads to exactly where I left it ??
(I always hate these answers !) I just could not get it to fail as in your experience.

Thanks Mitch and John,
I'll reset to factory defaults and see what happens. I'd very much like to know why this should happen, as it doesn't present itself when I use amplitube 3 in Sonar X1c. Oh well, resetting I go...

UPDATE:
Did a complete factory default reset. Regretably, this did not solve the problem, and the Amplitube settings were not kept upon saving and relaunching BIAB2012. While I was trying these changes, I noticed that launching 'plugins' froze the metronome. Has anyone else experienced this? I ask because I wonder if the frozen metronome and the failure to retain Amplitube settings is somehow related. Also, I run Windows 7 64 bit, and wonder if that may have something to do with this issue, i.e., maybe running 32 bit aps in a 64 bit background is causing the problem. (Again, no problems with Sonar, so I doubt it.)
At this point, I don't have a solution nor understand why Amplitube's settings are not saved. I can live with this, as I don't use BIAB for live performances, just making backing tracks and practicing. I can and will just configure Amplitube each time I use it.
If anyone has any additional suggestions, please feel free to respond. Thanks.

I didn't try it on my 7 x 64 machine. Have you tried turning off the UAC?

Works OK here on Windows 7 64bit. UAC is off. I just tried 1 tune earlier. I'll try some more today to see if I can get it to fail.

OK, something IS going on here I think. I tried 4 different files and get the same results as you. Amplitube shows connected, but does not produce the patched sound. Default BIAB sound plays. And, after reopening and playing the file (no Amplitube sounding) when I click the 'Stop' button I get an 'Access Violation' and BIAB freezes. Have to shut it down. Reopen, remove Amplitube VST, plays fine, stops fine. I'd open a support call and have them remote into your PC and experience what you are ? The file I tested days ago works just fine ! So there is a parameter or setting in that song that does not cause the issue..weird.

Thanks Mitch! Misery loves company. I'll give support a call tomorrow and see what they suggest. I'll continue to update this thread as warranted.

Yes, thanks Rob. I was not able to be at my computer yesterday, so I will call to arrange a time early next week (or this weekend) to get this resolved. I appreciate your response.

UPDATE Feb 8, 2012
As best as I can determine, this problem is either style- or song-specific. Amplitube settings are saved when I use _J140_GB Jazz Swing Combo and "Ba-lue Bolivar Ba-Lues-Are", but lost when using _JAZZNYC Jazz Slow Ballad w/NY Piano and "Polka Dots and Moonbeams". I've confirmed these observations over several days and BIAB sessions.
I've been pressed for time the last couple of weeks, so I have not switched the styles around to confirm my suspicions nor have I explored other realtrack styles with guitar to determine which of them retain/lose Amplitube settings.
I hope to delve further into this later this week (read=weekend).

I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could try these two styles with Amplitube to see if someone else can reproduce this problem.

Hello Bob,
I think there might be an issue with 'song' realtracks (i.e. realtracks that aren't in the STY), and using the top slot of the plugins window. If you use the 2nd slot does it work for you consistently?
