I've recorded some vocals for a few tunes and after recording them I can apply various VST plugins without issue. The GSnap pitch correction VST works well for eliminating the odd clam. However, it would be more efficient to apply the correction before recording so I don't need the plug-in active during playback.
Is it even possible to route incoming audio through the VST plug-in before recording? If so how would you do it?
Just selecting GSnap in the audio track VST slot didn't seem to work. There was no graphical indication that it was receiving any audio input and I didn't hear any difference in the output.

Yes but you need to use ASIO for that.If ASIO works for you come back and I'll tell you the process.

Unfortunately ASIO crashes BiaB anytime a song with amplitube in it ends, either naturally, or when I hit the stop button. However, for recording I could remove amplitube temporarily and use ASIO.
So, in short, yes, could you please tell me how. Thanks.

Is there a way to do input monitoring with ASIO in BIAB ? I can't find it if there is...

Not sure if this was directed at me but I'll comment. I used Asio4All on my system exclusivly until the 2012 version was released and never had a problem monitoring audio input. As far as I know that is dependant on your specific audio interface/soundcard. Most (all those I've used) allow monitoring by default. I have read posts on this site that suggest certain interface units have a 'monitor input' checkbox in the interface control app that would need to be enabled.

I'm just recording Vocals in BiaB to make backing tracks more interesting. Anytime I want to record bass or vox for a finished tune I use RB.
But now that you mention it there's no reason I couldn't record the vox in RB and just render the track to wav and put it in the appropriate folder with the song file.
So how would I apply a VST plugin to the audio coming in to RB? Just choose the GSnap plugin for the track and record?

This applies to ASIO only in Real Band;
In the Aud set up, check the box 'Allow Input monitoring - ASIO only'
On the track you want to record on, select the input device as 'Input Monitoring' (at the bottom of the drop-down list).
Then in slot 1, apply the VST of choice. This will NOT get added to the dry recorded track... it's just for monitoring an effect while tracking.
Doing this from memory but I do this all the time when recording guitar tracks onto RealBand tracks.

1. switch to ASIO in the prefs audio
2. check,"enable IM monitoring"&"Allow IM effects recording.
3. click drivers tab
4. select the drivers you have
5. set buffers by clicking on "Asio control panel"
6. OK, OK OK until you're back to the main RB track view
7. Make the track RED that you'll record to & rt click to set it to an audio track.
8. Click FX tab
9. Tricky part here- click on the "track" drop down.
10. scroll to the bottom and choose "Input monitor insert"
11. click on the "plugin"drop down
12. choose your effects in 1-4 slots
13. Good luck
