I consider a voice an instrument.

Others beg to differ.

I consider vocalists musicians.

Some musicians have training.
Some have experience.
Some have both.
Some have street smarts.
Some are realistic.
Some are artistic.

The latter often precludes many of the above.

And not to forget, an analysis of the younger generation written over 100 years ago to describe ancient Greece at the time of Plato:

"The counts of the indictment are luxury, bad manners, contempt for authority, disrespect to elders, and a love for chatter in place of exercise."

Despite the above some people of my generation are botchups and banshees. (Take a bow Mr. Swamp Rat Tyler!) so maybe we can start uphill now!
