Hi all,

Just finished another new one, called Find A Way. Most of the instrumentation is RealTracks & RealDrums. I did add some strings and brass, and a little guitar and piano, all from Miroslav Philharmonik. All the vocals are me. I hope you enjoy it!

Find A Way

Here are the lyrics...

Find A Way
Music & Lyrics, Copyright Stephen W. Young

Memories from a faded photograph
Of true love that we both knew would last
A moment in time so long ago
The smiles in the picture say it's so

If I could only find a way to say
But every time, my words get in the way

I look around and see you standing there
And I stumble at the words I want to share
A moment in time, just yesterday
But a lifetime of loving you this way

If I could only find a way to say
But every time, my words get in the way

And here are the RealTrack/RealDrums used...

RealTracks in song: 1255:Bass, Electric, PopShiningA-B Ev 120
RealTracks in song: 1542:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm PopBelieve Ev16 065
RealTracks in song: 634:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopAmericanMuted Ev 120 (B:8ths)
RealTracks in song: 1676:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking CountryBrent Ev 065
RealTracks in song: 1543:Synth Pad, PopBelieve Ev16 065
RealTracks in song: 1705:Guitar, Electric, Soloist CountryBrent Ev 085
RealDrums in Song: CountryPopEv16^01-a:Sidestick, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat

Have a great day!

Steve,

This song to me is a "Production".
The lyrics, music style and your "gentle" vocals sound like
material for a movie to me.

Thanks for your hard work and sharing with us.

Wow, thats nice. I wish I could write "pleasant to the ear" stuff like that rather than my weird stuff.
I could imagine that live and it would bring the house down!!

Well done

Gorgeous production Steve! Everything about it. Especially like the build and vocal effects on the harmonies. Don't you just love the Miroslav - I have it too - beautiful sound.

Agree with Seeker this one would be great for film/tv.

Well done.

Steve, it becomes harder and harder to delude oneself into thinking that the song you have worked on for weeks still sounds
mediocre and inconsistent, are due to the fact that one are using prerecorded RT -
and as everybody knows - it is impossible to get a decent result from that

Steve you proved just the opposite - again. Once again a fantastic song.

Beautiful, Steve. There's oodles of work and TLC in there.
As near to perfection as makes no difference.

Super lyrics BTW!

Really, really nice Steve! The composition and arrangement reminds me of Bread. I hope you take that as a compliment, because I just love that sound and that vibe.

Hey Steve,

The only thing wrong with this song that I can see is I didn't write it. Lol.
Very nice sir. Great job.
Look forward to hearing more.

Seeker,

Thanks so much! I hadn't really thought of movie material, but sounds good to me! I wouldn't turn it down. Thanks again!

JCJazz,

Thank you very much for your kind words! I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

Brallan,

Thanks so much! As to my mellow harmonies, I guess the secret is age. I'm getting old! But seriously, I layer my background vocals. In this song there are 4 part harmonies, and each part was recorded 3 times each. So there are 12 tracks of just background vocals. I don't copy and paste them, I actually sing them individually. I usually just one-take each part - I don't worry if I'm a little off on some of the tracks (only a little of, though). That way, when mixed, it gives it a little more of a real choir sound. Hopefully this answers your question.

Gibson,

Thanks very much! Glad you like this one. I like your "weird" songs, though. Very creative. If we all did songs like mine this would be a pretty boring place! Thanks again for taking time to listen and comment!

Josie,

Thanks so much for your comments! I agree, Mirosalv Philharmonik is really awesome, when you need orchestral type production. Very realistic. Thanks again!

Jan,

I really appreciate your comments! With a little bit of work, RT's/RD's are truly awesome. Thanks again for your time and words!

John,

Thank you so very much! I always appreciate hearing from you. Glad you like this one.

Bob,

Thank you! I guess I need to send this one to a Movie Studio. Do you have any connections...

Ken,

Thank you! Bread? Are you kidding me? How could that not be a compliment? I love David Gates' voice. I grew up listening to those guys! (Well, some say I didn't grow up.)

Tim,

Very funny! At least you found something wrong with the song! I really do appreciate you taking your valuable time to listen and comment!

Mick,

I am a big fan of your work, and I really appreciate your very kind words!

The Good: I enjoyed this. Really.
The Bad: The one bar intro was rather abrupt.
The Ugly: The guitar in the 1st :46 gets tedious after about :16sec. It doesn't change for another :46

The Beast: The build at 1:07 is cool

I find myself hummin 25 or 6 to 4 after listening. Not a bad ting, just wierd (wasn't even born yet).
