I am sure this is something trivial but I can't figure it out. I am using the notation editor to write a bass part. Whenever I hit play it goes back to the computer generated notation and erases mine. What do I have to do to save my notation? I hit 'save' but it still reverts back.

Biab is first and foremost an "auto accompaniment" program. It's designed to regenerate all your parts every time you hit play. But, in response to questions like yours they added the "Freeze Track" function. That will save your part but understand if you ever need to regenerate the song later on, that frozen track may prompt the opposite question ie "Why doesn't Biab generate a new bass part"? A year from now you may have forgotten you froze it.

If you are actually using the Bass part, BIAB will regenerate each time you hit play. Two options are to Freeze the bass track or move the part to either the Soloist or Melody part.

I am on an earlier version of BIAB at the moment 2005. Can you tell me how I freeze a track in this version?

It is not available in your version. Move the bass track to the Melody or Soloist track, change to a bass patch, and mute the regular bass track.
